Azerbaijan or the Republic of Azerbaijan is the country located in the Transcaucasian region i.e. at the crossroads of Southwest Asia and Southeastern Europe. The Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan has proclaimed its independence in the year 1918 and it was incorporated into the Soviet Union in 1920, but now it is modern republic as per its fresh proclamation of independence in the year 1991. As per the new Constitution of the country, the Azerbaijan is a unitary semi- presidential republic and its political system’s structural formation was completed by the adoption of this new constitution in the year 1995. The Constitution limits the state power in Azerbaijan only by law for internal issues. The Azerbaijan government is based on the theory of separation of powers among its legislative, executive and judiciary wings.
