The Commonwealth of Bahamas is an
archipelagic state of eh Lucayan Archipelago where about seven hundred and more
islands, cays and islets in Atlantic Ocean and others are included. Nassau is
the capital which is the island of New Providence. The name is given to a
country and also to a larger island chain. The islands were treated as the site
of the fist landfall of Columbus in the New World in 1492. Now it is

Constitution Of Bahamas: The basic law of
the land of Bahamas provided under the Constitution of the country and the
English Common Law provides as basis of the Judicial System in Bahamas. The
constitution is liberal and it is strictly prohibiting the torture and other
cruel punishments. However, the Capital Punishment is still in use. The Court
of Appeal is the top court where three judges usually sit. And Supreme Court
comprising of Chief Justice and other two senior justices with 6 other
justices.
